READ THIS TOPIC
Hello. I am developing a text RPG. And I mean a real, true, D&D esque game. But, before I put too much effort into making all the dice programs, designing the character sheets, setting up all the rules, generating the NPC character sheets, and all the other general bullshit required, would anyone be interested in playing it?

Text RPG's like CTS are awesome if done right.
If, however, it turns into anything like that thing on SE and here where its based on that one book, i'm not joining. I didn't like how the posts were.
I would love to make a Mafia RPG.
Not the stereotypical Mafia, but in a more general sense, with more honor, etc. But then again, you would be able to pick it.

It's a fantasy type thing. I don't know specifically yet, as I've just started working on it, and want to know if anyone wants to play it. I've almost got a test version set up, but I haven't decided on all of the rules yet.
And no, Shift, it isn't based on anything specifically, though it's turn based, unlike CTS.

Turn based? That simplifys thing, which isn't necissarily bad. I want more specifications before I decide to join something.

Hello. I have come down wih a massive case of writer's block. I was writing the history of the game's worlsd, and I wasn't able to come up with anything other than 'the archives were destroyed in a fire', so that I could skip more than a thousand years of history.
So imma get to work on the rules and stuff. If anyone wants to help me out with the story, PM me, please.

I'd rather let you work this out on your own. Be specifications, I meant details, such as a tad bit of history, plot, and other crap. You can't ask people if they'd join an RPG they've never heard anything about other than its fantasy.

I wasn't asking people to join. I just wanted to know if anyone would play if I get it done.

Usually the history comes with the progress of the RPG.
(Im just using CTS as an example)
On SE, the CTS originally had a very innocent plot, but due to the freedom of the writers, the story expanded into a giant and vast world with branches of different stories going everywhere.
Now we're writing a wiki page, and theres so much history and stuff inside, that its gonna take us a few months to finish it. The different Clans, Factions, Cultures, races, etc.
Thats how good plots and histories usually come about.

Ever played d&D? Yeah, like that.
It goes GM(me), Player 1, Player 2, Player 3, etc., then it starts over again.
And the problem with the 'build the history as you go' thing won't work very well for something like this. Though I have another idea, but I'm not sure if it will work any better.
