Showoff Art Thread Guide

As you may notice, I already have an Art Thread, or [ART]. To make one of your own, follow these tips and details:

1. Have compelling art...don't spend five minutes on it like I did.
2. Use the latest in art developing. I'll give you these...
- Easy Paint Tools SAI
Costs: $50
- Flash CS3
Costs: $300
- MS Paint
Costs: FREE
- GIMP 2.6.7
Costs: FREE.
- Adobe Illustrator
Costs: $600
- Photoshop CS4
Costs: Around a good $700.

3. Don't push yourself, but have a passion for art. You won't be able to do it if you don't want to.
4. The systems on (2.) have some details I'd like to give away.
MS Paint - Very basic, tool brush system for free.
SAI - Very nifty $50 piece of equipment. It includes Air Brush, Legacy Pen, Water Colors, and very useful for gore effects when you practice.
CS4 Flash - VERY expensive animating/game developing system, at a hefty price of $700, it is usually what you see on Newgrounds, DQ, and Stickpage. However, CS3 is cheaper and easier (more convenient, really) than CS4. I couldn't find a link to it, but it sure out-paces the new version.
5. Have fun doing art. If someone gives an art request, you have the right to say 'no'. Enjoy it, don't be forced.
6. For those whom have only pencil & paper, you know what to do. No programs needed (you know, other than a scanner ).

So, those are the tips I can offer.

If your are going to be drawing or animating use CS3, as CS4 seems to have been set up more for programming than drawing/animating.

actually ive found that CS3 is better for programming but CS4 is better for drawing and such. I found this out when i tried to draw with the brush in CS3, i foudn that the vectors in CS4 are better. meaning that the brush is almost like Illustrator (you should add that to the list Midget, Illustrator has some pretty amazing tools to rival photoshop)
