Re: Prop. 8 and the like
So, for all the homosexuals, who are already married... are the states going to make the two break up? I think we're turning into Post Nazi Germany... where Hitler started killing off the cripples then gays. Except, we're not dying. We're being banned to love.
Re: Prop. 8 and the like
Whether Christians approve of homosexual marriages or not is a moot point. The type of marriage being debated is state marriage, not religious marriage. If same-sex marriage were legalized, it would require the state government to recognize these marriages and to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Churches would not be required to perform marriage ceremonies. Separation of Church and State clearly says that religion has no place in shaping government policies, and that government has no place in shaping religious policies, provided said religious policies do not threaten public safety (Ex: burning "heretics"). Since the arguments against same-sex marriage are religious, they have no place in either state or federal law.

Re: Prop. 8 and the like
Your forgetting about the homophobics. Not all people against homosexuality are religious. Some just plain don't feal its right.
Re: Prop. 8 and the like
I didn't say all the people against homosexuality were religious, I was saying the arguments against it are based on religious teachings. Being afraid of something or feeling that its "not right" aren't arguments.

Re: Prop. 8 and the like
'feel'.
May I tell you a story here? It is from..... Greek mythology, I believe.
Originally, there were 3 genders, as people had two sets of... genitals. Man/Man, Man/Woman, Woman/Woman. Apparently, the gods got pissed of, and split everyone in half. So now there was only Man and Woman. Everyone would then have to seek out their other half. So if someone was originally Man/Woman, you'd be striaght. Woman/Woman, Lesbian. They thought it was perfectly normal.
Funny how ancient civilizations were more advanced than us in some ways, isn't it?

Oh, you'd be suprised at what some people will cook up just because of those two reasons.

Re: Prop. 8 and the like
I was saying that their point of view was different than ours, dumbass. Plus, I said 'story'. As in 'not necessarily true, but means something.' Don't be a jackass, I'm not in the mood.
Re: Prop. 8 and the like
Well, if your "not in the mood" why bother posting? I'm sorry, but you can't take out your anger on everyone else on the site. And there is a major difference between story, and fact.

Re: Prop. 8 and the like
Because your sarcastic comment was unnecissary and stupid. His anger was well placed, I mean, you completely misunderstood the point of that analogy. He never claimed it a fact, he claimed it a story. A point of view which refurs to the human sexual and heartfilled relationship quite nicely. It sort of symbolized two pieces of a puzzle. I will emphasize "sort of".
Re: Prop. 8 and the like
I am using the fact that he used a myth or story for a debate against him. But, you will probably just post something ridiculous against me, and like I said earlier I should probably just stop posting in this thread.

Re: Prop. 8 and the like
I always speak the truth. Well, I try, I'm not "all-knowing" or anything. Don't just assume what I say against your assumptions are rediculous, because they're not. They're, THE TRUTH. *omnious sound effect.*
He was simply sharing a story, not a factual imput, wasn't using it to debate anything. Its more culture and imaginative debation then factual and scientific. Open your mind to the possibilities of imput. Because that analogy is more intelligent than anything you could possibly throw out AGAINST homosexuality.

Re: Prop. 8 and the like
Guys, lets stop argueing already, please. Like I know I'm not an admin or mod, but seriously, grow up. I hate flame wars and what does this have to do with homo/bisexual stuff??
Young teens shouldn't even be dropping the F bomb like common speak. Seriously, guys. I can debate with you guys all night. But we do know, that a debate is having a constructive arguement... right??

Re: Prop. 8 and the like
I didn't cuss once, but yeah, you are right. Lets get back on topic. (on another note, I don't like to cuss)

Did I miss some sort of international teen meeting or something? Since when am I prevented from cussing? They're simply words, there is no logic behind them being considered "bad words" and what not.
Re: Prop. 8 and the like
swear words are called swear words, because they are rude and derogatory, and used on forums in debates many times, it shows the other users, that the one swearing cannot handle the situation appropriatly.
Re: Prop. 8 and the like
I don't care about your opinion. I asked when did you decide I shouldn't be allowed to "swear". Cussing isn't bad, they're words, which mean the same thing as other words which are considered more appropriate. For example, people wouldn't care if I say "crap", or "poop", but if I say "shit" I get gasps from the crowd and probobly a "do you kiss your mother with that mouth?". If you find cussing bad, then you need to grow up and accept the way reality is. If I wasn't to say damn, in the way people percieve it to be a "swear" word, I will. Most "swear" words aren't even used in the way they are defined. Thats just what people do, it isn't really "wrong" sort to say. Its a way of speaking. I "swear", deal with it, I don't really give a rat's ass about your opinion.
Re: Prop. 8 and the like
You see, you're just lashing out, because I said something that you did not agree with... And sweetheart, I already have 5 years on you. I said that they are rude and deragotory. Do you know what that word means? Oh by the way, Cuss and swear basically mean the same exact thing. It depends on where you grew up, learning which way to say it... But, thinking that you're totally cool and all that jazz, just because you cuss or swear or whatever, it's not cool... so yeah... Like, I'm sure you don't swear around your parents, because you may be afraid of the outcome or whatever, but take it from a more wise person, who has alot of experience with this stuff, and we'll have a great day.
Re: Prop. 8 and the like
1st amendment, sweetheart. He has the right to talk however the hell he wants, whether you agree with it or not. Sorry, that's the way it is.
